Nathan Clemens, Ph.D., is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Special Education at The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Clemens studies reading difficulties in children and youth, including word reading difficulties among students in early grades (including dyslexia), and reading comprehension difficulties in students in later grades. His work focuses on enhancing reading interventions and aligning evidence-based approaches with students' individual learning needs. He has over 70 publications and is leading several federal research grants studying interventions for struggling readers. Dr. Clemens is an author of HMH Into Reading. Nathan received his Ph.D. in school psychology from Lehigh University in 2009.
